What can left lower abdominal and back lower pain be?

i have pain on my lower left abdomen going also to the lower back.usually happens when i am in a sitting position or usually in the car when i lay down after a while the pain goes away.what can it be?
It sounds like it could be your kidney. For years I had pain in my lower left abdomen that would come on every once in a while. I went to the e.r numerous times, but they never could figure out what it was until one time I went and the pain had spread into my back. That’s when they started checking my kidneys. It turned out that I had a UPJ (ureteropelvic junction obstruction). I then needed surgery to fix it.
So I’d suggest going to the e.r.
